The Story

Without context, resumes get misread. JAN supplies the context.

The Founder

Built by a recruiter.

I spent 10+ years in recruiting: placing people, managing recruiters, and working with hundreds of hiring managers. I built JAN from all of that.

But I started my career in compliance. At a background-investigation firm, I adjudicated background checks against company policy. When you review court documents and issue adverse-action notices, documentation is everything. You have to explain, on the record, exactly why you made a decision.

That background set my standards. Years later, as automated screening tools entered the market, I saw them doing the exact opposite, handing recruiters a black-box score and expecting them to trust it.

I built JAN on that original compliance principle: Show the evidence behind every score.

What I believe

Technology shouldn't make the decision.

I believe there's a fit for every seat, and that people genuinely want to do good work and build something meaningful. JAN's job isn't to judge people. It's to organize your candidate pool against your exact requirements (not some recycled job description) and hand the evidence back to you.

But there's a firm line I won't cross: letting a bot decide who gets hired or rejected.

JAN handles the heavy reading, organizes the data, and arms you with suggested interview questions. Then you get the candidate on the phone and make the call. Recruiting is human to human, and it needs to stay that way.

Early feedback

What early users are saying.
